This is how we do it

Let’s talk tech

The ideal set up includes:

  • A strong projector, like this 16,000 lumen EPSON

  • A power source (either a designated 20 amp circuit you can plug into, or a mobile power unit like this from REON)

  • A computer with projection mapping software like MadMapper (here’s a tutorial)

But that’s some serious tech- it’s expensive, and heavy to move around. If you need a different option, you could use a smaller projector (minimum 3,000 lumens) and run it off of a portable battery like an ecoflo, jackery, bluetti, etc. The projected image will be dimmer, but you can try a long exposure when photographing to get a brighter image.

DON’T FORGET:

  • Research all the relevant laws regarding projection mapping where you are.

  • Be considerate and act with care.
